i live on the west coast...should I be seeing my decision letter soon?

unfortunately, i have a feeling acceptances have sort of gone out, and rejections will come out after

There were some posters from MA who received rejections already...I don't think we know enough to assume that all acceptances were sent first.

if the emails came out yesterday morning, thats probably when they dropped off the mail at the post office too. everything should be sent at once, acceptances and rejections. Wesleyan stuff was mailed on thurs and i got it yesterday (i live in southern ny) so im dying with anticipation for the mail =/

No mail in the midwest -- bad or good. Hopefully Monday.

No mail in the Carolina area--hoping Monday will bring happy tidings. After being waitlisted at Wesleyan, I would love Amherst to come through...but there's always Carleton. Admissions this year is such a bizarre and incredibly mysterious process. What I would give to see an AO's report on my application! And...what I would give for mail on Sundays! Oh well - bonne chance!

D received rejection letter today and separate letter went to parents - husband and grandfather are alums - She is devastated - really felt like amherst was "home"

Parenthetical.. how crushing. I am so so sorry. Having been there with Dartmouth (although no legacy status which makes your blow even worse I am sure), there is very little you can say except that there is nothing she could have done different and that your disappointment is only because she is disappointed. It has nothing to do with her. While obvious to us as parents, I don't think it's always obvious to them that we think this way. As to blueskyjadeglobe's comment about admissions being such a bizarre and incredibly mysterious process this year, I have to say I think it's incredibly bizarre and mysterious EVERY year.
