MMAMom2011, the I-495 route across Manhattan might be about the same, but some people prefer staying on I-95N/Cross Bronx Expressway, then Exit 10 onto I-678 toward Whitestone Bridge, then Exit 14 onto Whitestone Expressway, left onto College Point Blvd, right onto Roosevelt Avenue to Shea Stadium.

Variation on the above: I-95 N to George Washington Bridge to Major Deegan Expressway, South, to the Triborough Bridge to Queens. Continue on the Grand Central Parkway past La Guardia Airport. Bear right toward the Whitestone Expressway. Exit from the ramp (from the Grand Central toward the Whitestone) onto the local streets. You are right next to Shea. They are building a new stadium for the Mets in what used to be the big parking lot. So, follow the traffic and hunt for a place to park. Go Mets!

Atlasmith&NFODad - THANK YOU!!

Just got an email this am from PC and they are allowed to visit with parents, just not sit with us.

They were advised that they may not be in whites! It's suppose to rain so they may have their rain gear on....either way, we won't be able to miss them. My son sounds very excited (and he's actually a loyal Phillies fan.... I guess there the only kind left now-a-days).

Hubby wanted me to post that the game will also be on
http://msn.foxsports.com/

To see if you can get it through fox sports, go to the bottom left & put in your zip to see if your provider is on the list. If it is, you can click on it to see the channel # & time.

Have fun Plebes! Travel safe parents!

I'm watchin' !
I'm watchin' !
I'm watchin' !
Nuts! Nuttin. :( (through the 8th. embarrassed to admit I missed the 1st inning)

The TV coverage was impeccable! Great closeups on players, ball, and advertisers (and the first 2 rows behind the batter)

Next time, we need to slip Ens Lauren Fulton or WYTL2009-B into the control booth to give directions to the cameramen !

Counting on you parents who made it to the game to fill us in!

I hope all the Plebe Candidates had a great time. First time they've been off-campus as a group for recreation!

RATS! Nuttin' either. Those ESPN noggin' heads blacked out the game on us so we caught it on Fox. I had to sit through the Mets with nary a white uniform to be seen!!!! Oh the pain of it all. Sheesh! Yes, parents... counting on your photos!

in case anyone tivo'd or taped the game. there was a short bit at the bottom of the 3rd. didn't see my boy but will review tape and get really close to the tv in hope of a new vantage point! :) sure how some photos surface soon!

Sheesh. Look all you want, but I didn't see the first Plebe Candidates until Gallery 24 in www.printroom.com . Now, let's see if there's anyone I recognize... ;)

Check out these photos.

Just returned from the game. They looked AMAZING. SOOOO Proud. Sooo exciting!!!!! We were able to spend A LOT of time with them too. I took 71 pics which will take 45 minutes to upload. Then I will try to put them on this post. Since most of the PCs did not know me, they probably thought I was some kind of lunatic stalker, but I tried to take as many PCs as I could. There are a lot of my kid (sorry about that), but he HAD to cooperate with me.

It was WELL worth the NYC rush hour, heat, crowd and expense. They did their fight songs and well, were more of an attraction than the game (all prejudices aside...hmmmmm).

Thanks MMAMOM2011! I can't wait to look through your pics. It must have been so nice to see your kiddo. I loved hearing about the fight song. How did others in stands react to the cadets? I am living vicariously through all of you able to attend. Know that all details are greatly appreciated.

Waayyyyy coool, MMAmom2011 . ;)

OK. I've got my <f5>-refresh fingers stretched and warmed up, so I don't sustain an injury.</f5>

Let the games begin! <f5>-refresh.<f5>-refresh.<f5>-refresh.<f5>-refresh. :D</f5></f5></f5></f5>

Thank your for letting all of us at home feel like we were almost there!

Your pictures are now being shared around the country from all us proud momma's.

Here are a few more pictures from the game yesterday. We waited by the gate as the buses arrived from KP. Many fans stopped by to cheer on the USMMA and called out "thanks for your service". It was great!
