awesome photos! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks to all of you responsible for posting the fabulous pictures.

Thanks emptysea03. We saw our smiling son in one of the shots. Sure was great to see him. Again, thanks to you and all of the parents who took photos for those of us who couldn't be there.

I'm SOOOOOOO glad MMAMOM2011's son and mine are friends!! He's in lots of pictures!!! Hooray!!! They all look so handsome in their whites!! The Mets stink! There was only a handful of pictures! BOO HISS! Thanks also emptysea03. You guys ROCK!!!!!

Well all I can say is the boys looked fabulous and every parent should be very proud of the son/daughter you raised in this day and age. They are definitely a special group of kids. I think they really enjoyed the leisure time given and so did us parents. They received a $20 coupon to use so there were plebes everywhere at the concession. I only saw a handful of parents/girlfriends. The boys we talked to were full of stories. They all said tons of school work. One poor plebe dirtied is pure white pants. I saw him trying to use the tide stick. What do you think the penalty is for dirty pants? Other than the stiffling heat it was a memorable time. I still can't believe I'm looking at my son in an officer's uniform. All I can tell you parents is prepare yourself for Acceptance Day. When you see them in their uniform you will be flooded with all kinds of emotions (where did the years go, when did they turn into adults, I must not have done such a bad job, and I couldn't be more proud).

I talked to his CO. I asked how did they get them to listen. He said easy a rope with tacks on the end.

Sorry I failed with the picture taking. I wasn't too efficient.

yep mom

and mines 2010
and shes still getter better

these are great kids

So we didnt see him on tv or on the pics but thanks to everyone who sent them in. Just seeing all of the young men and women in uniform made me very proud to know that my son is amongst them. I appreciate everyone who took the time to take the pics for the rest of us. Then I popped on myspace and there on my sons site was a pic of him and his roommate in their dress whites. I am so proud of all of them. Once again thanks for the sharing.

Thanks for all the photos! Yes indeed! They looked awesome. The most awesome class ever. Except for 09, well... ok...& maybe 2010......

Did ya'll see that box of ballgame goodies the VADM had? He's awesome! :D

I just got back from NY and posted some photos I took at the Mets Game AND of the Lunch muster the next day (Thursday 8/9). Enjoy!

Ohhh, SuzanneGra. You got EXCELLENT photo position! Great shots. Thanks for posting so many wonderful shots.

I’m not extremely good at writing, but I wanted to convey to all the PC parents that our kids are doing GREAT! During the Mets game I had the opportunity to observe them interact with each other and all I can say is they seem to have come together and are extremely supportive of each other. The camaraderie that I witnessed between the PC’s was a total surprise. The smiles, the laughing and the entire “team spirit” were so evident in each one of their faces.

On Thursday afternoon, MOM Guest started a new project at Land Hall. She baked homemade cookies and all the Mids and PCs were invited to stop by and partake in the treats. In this venue the kids once again exuded the same happiness. If your child is not aware of this tell them to drop by Land Hall on Thursday after 16:00 because I believe she’s going to try to do this every Thursday.

One thing that is apparent though is there are not enough hours in the day. Their schedules are so packed that almost every minute is filled. Between homework [which I was told by several PC’s that you are never caught up], classes, meetings, regimental duties, sports, and of course cleaning, they have maybe 5 min left for personal things, so don’t be upset if you don’t get letters and/or contact via IM. They truly don’t have much time.

On another note, while I was roaming around the campus waiting to watch lunch muster I was extremely impressed by the politeness of all the Mids and PC's. There were other civilians walking too and they commented to me how impressed with this they also were. Anytime a Mid or PC walked by one (if in a group) would say “Good Morning Ladies,” or “Good Afternoon Ladies,” or such.

Our kids are truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful institution. WE SHOULD ALL BE VERY PROUD OF OUR KIDS! Count the days until 15 September….. I know I am.

Right after Plebe Acceptance day in 2001 I stayed behind at Kings Point and did my 2 week Naval Reserve AT at GMATS. The second day of class was the 11th of September and my plebe son and I watched together from a position near the chapel as the buildings of the World Trade Center burned and fell. As a matter of fact my son witnessed the second plane strike the south tower. Well I finished out my active duty the next week and on Friday I was able to get a flight out of LaGuardia for the west coast. That same Friday my son and a couple hundred cadets attended the first Mets game after the attack. They took the “Number One” ensign to unfurl on the field before the singing of the national anthem. I’m in a small bar having a beer at Stapleton in Denver waiting for my connecting flight when the game comes on ESPN. I was standing with a group of about 10 guys watching the TV when the cadets start unfurling the flag. The crowd begins one of the most emotional renderings of the anthem I have ever heard, the camera pans around the edge of the flag and low and behold for about 5 seconds focuses on my son.. I’m stunned.. I point to the screen and say “hey, that’s my kid” I can’t express how proud I was at that moment..
Anyway there are many memories I have from those two weeks, like the bridge in Great Neck covered with ribbons, flowers and personal memorabilia from people that lost loved ones, my son and I attending Mass at the chapel the Sunday after the attack and of course that memorable Mets game.

Thanks Suzanngra...just one question did you have to shave your head to get all those pictures? :) Thanks a bunch!

lol no shaved head.........but I would have :D

Here is a link to a few more Mets and Muster photos.

In an earlier post I wrote the cookie were served at 16:00....change that....the cookies will be there from 13:00 to 17:00. Make sure your kids know about it! YUMMY homemade cookies and milk!

My son's girlfriend and mother were at the Mets game. She came home and gave me the information about this site. How wonderful to see all the pictures of the plebes at the Mets game ... there was even one in the midst of all the shutterfly pics of our son.

We were able to see a few pictures from her which were good. They all look so great in their whites!

We are from Maryland and have been to visit our son once for chapel and lunch a couple of weeks ago. It was great! I was so surprised by his loss of weight. Anyone considering going should. It is well worth it to see them for even 3 hours ... Our son was given a huge boost of encouragement to see us. We plan to go again in a couple of weeks.

Well, just saying hello to all the parents on this forum in the same boat as we are! It's been a tough month for us missing him but we are so proud of our young man!

Linda from Maryland

Welcome to the Zoo, Lglass. :) Some of these parents have done amazing things with camera, gps, and determination.... and I am in their debt for posting the results of that effort. I think there are some budding photographers in their midst.

Yes! Welcome LGLASS ~ it was I who spoke to your son's girlfriend, told her about this website and took their photo! What lovely kids they are. I'm hoping you showed her the photo as I promised she could get it on-line. If she or anyone else would like a jpg photo, please private message me and I can email it to you. WELCOME!!
