I got in to both schools for Psychology but I don't know which one i would fit in more. I am a black female, if that matters and I am a psychology major. I understand the Miami is known for being preppy but but that's how I view my high school and I love it. Not gonna lie I've been around white people all my life and being actually from Africa (ghana) I don't do we'll with American black people. I really want to enjoy my college experience and be comfortable and I want to have and go to parties. But also have get the best to offer academically.

I don’t know what you mean about not doing well with American black people but…
There are very few minorities at Miami. I went there and was completely uncomfortable with the grand gestures of wealth, like limos picking people up for there day weekends, off the top of my head.
It’s.very fratty" and it got old. Fast. The academics didn’t really blow my mind like I’d expect but it can and probably is different by department. It’s in an insanely small town centered around the school where the biggest thing for miles is Walmart. But the campus is gorgeous. It’s so picturesque and the red brick buildings are as stunning as students there and alumni describe.
The biggest sport on campus is hockey but basketball games are usually packed as well (for whatever reason hockey has a larger white population and when I went to a basketball game, I saw more minorities from miami there than anywhere else on campus.)

As a black woman from a large city, I felt like I stuck out in a sea of 5’2 blondes from small Towns and loaded families and had a fair share of racially driven comments thrown my way, which is why I have such a bad taste in my mouth about the school as whole.

Did you enjoy your experience there?
