Would appreciate feedback about the MMSS program. My S is a junior and will be taking AP Calc and Physics next year. He is a "math kid", but has spent summers doing sports, at camp, working or doing community service. Is this program challenging? Does it attract h.s. seniors or mostly younger students?

i attended MMSS in 2007. i loved it.

the program is not very challenging, but it is academic and focused. the daily schedule allowed us to do intensive labs and projects - however it does not really prepare for school subjects next year, because the focus is more on exploratory science. it was a low pressure environment and there no significant "home"work is assigned, but most kids are motivated to do well in class.

as far as I know, most students were rising junior and seniors. it was a good experience to become familiar with the university. they gave us a good amount of indpendence and free time to go around the campus.

I agree with Hlover… really academically focused students and interesting/deep subjects, but more interesting/random science stuff like the electives you might take in college, not a “pre-ap-physics” kinda thing.
6 hours a day of classes but not much homework except for the final project groupwork
