Michigan? McGill? Anymore?

Hey guys!

I am an international student in my junior year here in Seoul, South Korea.

Captain 11th - 12th grade
All Conference 9th,10th,11th,12th
MVP 9th,10th,11th,12th

UNICEF 9th-10th grade

The Supply (changed from UNICEF) 11th-12th grade

BPC (FBLA) 11th grade-12th grade

I am hoping to apply my senior year to good colleges but sadly by gpa is obviously pretty low. I am hoping to get at least 2100 on SATs.

The college I want to attend most is University of Michigan and the acceptance rate isnt SUPER low...but according to our school history...it's kind of random. A person with like 2.5gpa and 1700 SAT got in...and perfect-grade person got in too.

I also like McGill. I was just wondering what my chances were? But also, what are other colleges that have a good NAME reputation to others. I know it's bad to go by name reputation and I should focus on the details...but I'm just curious.

Do you guys have other recommendations of colleges around University of Michigan?

Maybe...Notre Dame (but its really hard)
Anything along the top 40s, 30s where I have a chance at??

THAT WOULD BE GREAT...thank you so much :)

I’m hoping to major in psychology, business, or sports-related stuff.

“A person with like 2.5gpa and 1700 SAT got in.”

I find this hard to believe. Unless that person was an all star athlete or family contributed lots of money to the school, there is no way Michigan is going to accept a 2.5 student.

U of Wisconsin-Madison is very similar to the U of Michigan, but easier to get into. University of Toronto is superb, and easier to get into than Michigan.

Also check out Purdue, Indiana University, U of Minnesota (Twin Cities), U of Kansas, and U of Iowa.

How do I stand for UMCP? Maryland College Park looks really nice and I hear it’s a great school. Any feedback on the college itself and chances?
