New member's questions on mcgill

Hi guys, I just joined today. I've been reading these forums for some time now and I've thought it was time to join in. I'm a senior in high school and I'm really interested in McGill.

What I like about McGill is the really nice tuition and the fact that its right in the heart of an awesome city. My friends laugh when I said I want to go there because they say its as hard to get in there as it is to get into Harvard.

Is this true? I heard it had a certain degree of respect, but I never thought of it as an Ivy League level kind of school. I'm an ok student (2100 SAT, 4.4 WGPA, but these didn't come easy), but I'm not some super genius who gets perfect scores.

Eh, what it boils down to is I'm asking how selective this school is.

(Also, I heard that McGill's college experience is much different from that of an American school. What do they mean by this? I like to have fun, but I'm not a party crazy kinda person.)

Much thanks!

You'll get int with those scores.

mcgill's admission rate according to collegeboard's website is over 50%. with your scores i think you would get in.

Thanks for the replies. Anyone's opinions on McGill would be really helpful too.

McGill's admission rate for the fall of this year's entering class was 46%, which is comparable to that of the University of Michigan.

If you're looking at the arts, a 4.4 GPA and 2100+ SAT will definitely get you in.
