Michigan State and Purdue University

I'm in my junior year of high school and wondering what my chances are of getting into either Michigan State (I'm in state) or Purdue University. I'm thinking of majoring in probably Chemical Engineering or Computer Science. I'm also wondering if there's any other schools I should be looking at, specifically in the midwest or Washington D.C. area. My parents want me to go to a school near them, or my brother who lives in D.C.

My class rank is 208 of 607, and my cumulative GPA is a 3.29 unweighted.

My courses next year are:
AP Chemistry, AP Economics, Physics, Pre-Calculus, Spanish IV, Civics, Creative Writing, and Oral Communications

Extra curricular wise the only club I'm in is a computer programming club, and I'm not sure if it matters but this year my team of 3 placed third at an ACM competition out of 40 or so teams. Another team from my school placed second.

I think you have very good chances at both of them. I am not sure though if Purdue has different admission requirements for their engineering majors. Some others to possibly consider are Iowa State, Iowa, Dayton and Miami of Ohio. Best of luck!
