Michigan State Housing

I’m a high school senior and I’ve recently decided to go to Michigan state, so now it just comes down to picking dorms. I want to live on an honors floor, so the options are Bryan, Case, Mason, Snyder-Phillips or Yakeley-Gilchrist halls. My question is what do people like about those halls? And what are the pros/cons of the different neighborhoods at Msu? I’m going to study engineering so I’m also curious if that has an effect on where I should want to live.

@msuengineer15678 - My son is also an Honors student, and intends to major in mechanical engineering. He wants to live in the honors floor in Case Hall. First, it’s very close to the Engineering Quad. Second the Engineering CoRe community is in Wilson and Wonders Hall, right next door, with CoRe housing, classes, labs, and advising.

Thanks, case does sound pretty convenient since it’s closer to other engineers

I currently live on the honors quiet floor of Bryan Hall. Bryan is in Brody neighborhood, on the far west side of campus; it is about a 25 minute walk from most of my classes. Tons of freshman in Brody- probably mostly freshman. Brody has the newest buildings, largest rooms. I like it, for what it’s worth.
