You’re fine. JMC is not harder to get into. Just make sure you apply early because it’s a first come, first serve admission.

On another note, if you raise up your class rank and get an ACT that is 30+, you will get into the Honors College as well. So work really hard because it can be worth it. Have you taken practice tests yet?

But other than that, as long as you keep up your grades and get an ACT 25+, you’re a shoe-in for MSU.

Best of luck :)

Haven’t taken any practice test. but will so soon.

I’m just interested in JMC. I will definitely apply to JMC as soon as MSU application is up next year. The honors college would be a little hard for me.

Hey I’m a 3rd year student in James Madison College (international relations). If you have any questions about JMC feel free to ask me! If you are accepted into Michigan State University, you can be in James Madison College. Just make sure when you are applying that you list your intended major as “james madison college” and apply early (before november) and you’ll get in no problem.

Thanks everybody for your comments. JMC will surely be on my college list. Any other schools offer a similar program as well, or is MSU the only school that has this specific major/program?

As far as I know, James Madison College for public and & international affairs is pretty one-of-a-kind in terms of the residential college coupled with the 4 majors - international relations, comparative cultures & politics, political theory & constitutional democracy, and social relations & policy. But if you are just looking for a school that has international relations as a major, many schools do have international relations as a major (not UofM though).
