Michigan State University Prospective Transfer Student

Hello,

I’m a sophomore hoping to transfer to MSU next fall. My current major is nursing but I want to change it to child development which my school does not have. I do know that MSU has a great program! I was wondering what are my chances of getting in.

My cumulative GPA is a 3.49 right now and it will get higher at the end of this semester. I’ve already taken my English pre requisite and I’m going to take my math next semester. The only problem is that I’m going to try to test out of one of my math classes so I can go straight to MTH103. I’m in a higher math class right now, so basically I have to take a lower class. If I do not pass the placement test I will have to take a math class that is equivalent to MSU’s MTH 1825. Do you think I have a chance of getting in with that math class?

Thank you !

By MSU do you mean Mississippi State University or Michigan State University? (I am going to assume the latter.)

Michigan State University, sorry @orange71

Your questions are very specific – best answered by spking with transfer admissions officials in E Lansing. Good luck

He or she will also help you determine which courses transfer for credit too. I’d also check the job prospects out for your new area of interest.

Thank you! @T26E4

I checked the job outlook for my new major and it’s doing very well right now, the only thing would be the income would not be as much as I would like but I want to continue to get my masters and more. Thank you! @TooOld4School
