Hello,

I need some help deciding if I should transfer to Michigan Tech or Grand Valley. I plan on majoring in Software Engineering at Michigan Tech or Computer Science at GVSU. I really liked Michigan Techs campus and the fact that they offer Software Engineering as a major, but its a seven hour drive from home compared to 3 hours to Grand Valley. Which school would be better for my future?

Major: U of M - Dearborn is another school with software engineering.

Cost: Dearborn and Grand valley are around 10k for in state tuition, whereas Michigan tech is around 13k, making Michigan tech invariably more expensive.

Can’t really say which one will be better for you. All of the 15 public colleges in the state of Michigan have a competer science and/or software engineering program (i believe). You’re going to have to do your research to figure out which one you would prefer to attend. The super match tool on this site is a great place to start.

Obviously you love severe winters too. ;-)
