There has been a lot of different answers to how michigan calculates (or doesn't calculate) its gpa. Was hoping the allumn or other prospective students could clear it up.

Do they recalc cuz I thought they stopped that in 09. So they just use the gpa posted on the transcript?

And I hope to god that you’ll use better grammar in your essays…

They recalculate your GPA to an unweighted 4.0 scale. 100%-90% is a 4.0, 89.9%-80% is a 3.0, 79.9%-70% is a 2.0, etc.

Lol written from my iPhone… Kron r u positive about that? I know some schools recalc like that (ex georgia tech) but r u sure mich does it like that? I thought they changed it to whatever the transcript said

We were told at a Michigan visit during the presentation that Michigan looks only at your unweighted GPA and the rigor or your coursework. No weighting, yet the rigor definitely matters.

I’m as sure as I can be. That’s what the admissions counselors told me last year when I applied.

Yeah. Umich does not weight your grades. It’s as dry as the desert.
