Microbiology?

Hey guys,

Microbiology has been my passion for years. I would really like to major in either microbio or bacteriology, but I'm not sure which schools are best for that. Microbiology isn't very sought after, apparently, and I haven't been able to get reliable information. Suggestions, anyone?

Thanks for the reply!
I’m sorry if I didn’t specify, but I am currently I a high school student. I want to major in microbio for undergrad.

Guys? Does anyone have valid info about this?

If the grad programs are very good so are the undergrad. Same place and profs. More access to top researchers.

If you goal is to find a job in the field (as opposed to Medical School), you will need at least a Masters and most likely a PhD for anything paying a reasonable salary. Having said that, get your BS at the most cost-effective school and save your money for grad school…(BS Microbiology Purdue '83)

If you are not fully funded for a grad science program they don’t really want you.
