I was recently accepted to both the Microsoft High-School Summer Internship Program and the Young Scholars Program at UC Davis https://ysp.ucdavis.edu/program-description
At Microsoft I would mostly be developing apps, perhaps for a mobile platform and possibly working on research with a PhD student. I also will work with experienced and prestigious researchers. This is more technical and less academic.
On the other hand YSP is a very academic program where the students write papers at the end of the program and possibly publish it. You learn more biology and work closely with a professor.
Which program would be better for getting into college?
Any thoughts/input would be appreciated

I think the academic program is better for academia

Hey I know this post is a couple years old but did you end up doing the Microsoft internship?
