Microwaves?

U-store is not owned by Princeton U.

Yes the rental on microfridges is bit higher than at some other universities. However, they cost a lot too. They are about $400-$450 to buy. Any rental company will try to recover their cost as fast as they can (kids don't maintain them well) + don't forget they have to pay someone to transport back and forth. Princeton Student agency is run by students - all the students who work there are paid salary.

You don't have to rent them - just use the one in common room. Just a small regrigerator will cost you between $60-$100. Ocourse every year you will pay about $30 for storage during summer.

You can buy used ones pretty easily for ~$50.00.

Walmart is your best friend ... especially if a roomate has a car :)

or you can take the Bus going and while coming get a taxi for about $15-20.

Just FYI, you can bring your own microwave, even though it's technically against fire safety rules, I had one all last year and I have it again this year and it's absolultely no problem at all. No electrical problems whatsoever and you just cover the microwave with a towel or sheet or something and then the fire safety inspectors 'pretend' not to see it. There really is no need to rent a microfridge b/c there really is no good reason not to be able to have your own microwave.

^ Ken Lay reincarnated.

voovi thats exactly what I ended up doing, which makes me happy I didnt have to vacate my wallet for a rental. Yeah the sheet thing works like a charm.
