Mid Semester Roommate Already deciding to move out with friend

I'm a college freshman so this may sound a but naive.

Me and my roommate get along very well but she has a lot of friends, like a lot, everyone loves her basically. So one of her friend's roommates went MIA and dropped all of her courses, basically she's done. Her roommate just has to show up and get her stuff (it's weird). She told both of us in our room and then she goes "You could be in my room now!" to my roommate and then they start cheering. So if that does happen I will be alone in a single which is nice I presume. I don't know why it bothered me for some reason they kind of decided it already.

Sorry I can be overly sensitive. :/

Well I’m thinking it bothered you because you were left out and your roommate didn’t talk to you first. I would be bothered too. On the other hand, focus on the fact that you’ll have a single! Not many freshman get to boast about that and it’s sooo nice to not have to share a room with anyone - you don’t have to be concerned with waking them up if you come in late, picking up after yourself, or being bothersome in general.

Because it was rude for them to do that. I’d be offended too. But, like the above post said you might get a single (you also might get a new roommate).
So it could be exciting either way.
