mid term grades need to be corrected!

DD learned today that the midterm grades sent to colleges included an error -- in one AP course, her grade was listed as B while in fact it was an A.

This appears to have occurred because she took a make-up test and it was not included in the grade when midterm grades were released, but the teacher was supposed to correct it with the guidance counselor.

What do you think we should do? The high school will send out a corrected transcript after the teacher gives them the correct grade, but do you think that d should send a letter/e-mail/fax/call to the schools she applied to, alerting them that a corrected transcript will be arriving?

This drives me nuts -- the difference in grade could affect both admissions and financial aid.

I would call tomm and tell them of the error. Make sure you are speaking to an admissions officer not some intern answering the phone. I would follow-up that conversation with a letter summarizing the conversation include the person's name you spoke to.

Schools drag their feet, did you get a timeframe when the transcript will be avaliable so you can communicate that to the college.

I didn't hear this story until 5PM or so when the school was closed. The impression I got from my daughter is that they will send out the corrected transcript when they get the corrected grade. My daughter will talk to the teacher and guidance counselor again tomorrow to follow-up.
