I'm pretty sure neither Harvard, nor Georgetown, nor Brown requires them or even mentions them, but i was wondering if sending Mid-Term Reports is kind of an unspoken expectation...possibly..?
More specifically, does anyone have any insight into any of the 3 schools I mentioned (esp. students who successfully transferred to one of them..)
I am a freshman transfer, and fear that if I don't send them in, It will count against me. God forbid it leads to my application being placed in, you know, the.. other pile...
At the same time, I didn't have any mid-term exams or anything, plus I have a 4.0 for first semester, so my gpa can only go down...
Anyways, Thank you!!! :)

What school do you currently attend? My daughter, a freshman, attending Vanderbilt with a 3.96 avg first semesrer, just sent mid-term reports to Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and Williams. I understood it was generally expected…

Darn. Alright, thank you jbstewsaff.
lol - Confronting teachers about grades because I want to transfer shouldn’t be awkward at all…
One more question:
I was looking at the mid-term report sheet that the common app. supplies, and i’m kind of confused. How are we supposed to waive our right to view the sheet, yet get all of our teachers to sign and record our grade on it.

(i’m referring to this portion:
I waive my right to access below, regardless of the institution to which it is sent:
I do waive my right to access, and I understand I will never see this form or any
other recommendations submitted by me or on my behalf.)

Yeah, that’s a weird bit. I just signed it after my teachers put in my grades. It’s not like we don’t know what our grades are anyway, so we’re not really getting any special information.

True true. At the same time… the reason people waive their right to read their rec.s is so that the admissions committees can see that the professors’ comments weren’t affected or anything. Wouldn’t that be a concern for the mid-term grades/comments too?

Sorry, one more question.
I’m taking 6 courses this semester, but one is pass/fail and only two credits. Should I include that on the mid-term report too, or would it be okay if it was left off?
