Mid-Term Semester Performance

transfers, how have you guys all been doing for mid-term grade reports

just curious??

my school doesn't give midterm grades so I just sent Penn the grade report that said "Grades are only given at the end of the semester."

Yeah, but my grades are relatively lower because they don't take into account the fact that most of our professors place a heavy curve at the end. I'm going to comment on that.

sman, most school don't give out mid-term grades, u Have to go up to your teachers and ask them to evaluate you based on what you have done so far, trust me, u have to get it done for Penn....

I hate this god-forsaken mid-term thing. I just got a letter from Wash U saying that they were placing my decision on hold until they got my mid-semseter grades. Thus far it's an A in my senior seminar in my major, A in my independent study, A- in math, A or A- in intermediate level history and BLAHHH a B in my intro class in my major (of all the ironies...) I can bring the B up to at least an A- by the end of the time my teacher grades my second test, which won't be until April 1. Also, two of my teachers this semester were my teachers last semester and already wrote my recs for NINE SCHOOLS, so I hate to bring them four more forms to fill out, especially since one of them was seems overwhelmed with work and was overwhelmed when I decided to apply to Wellesley, Tufts and BC at the last minute and got sort of upset that it was last minute and I just dread walking up to him with more paperwork even though he really likes me... blah, and I just logged in online at Harvard and they don't have my high school transcript even though I sent it in January. SO.STRESSED.OUT. Stats midterm and poli sci paper due tomorrow. Sorry. Just needed to vent.

bball...is that really how it should work? I called UPenn admissions office and they said to just put a note at the bottom of the form saying a final transcript will be sent...should I call again and figure it out? The deadline for the form already passed so I don't really know what to do. What a pain this whole process is...

um...Cornell doesn't give out mid-term grades, i had to go up to each freaking teacher and have them give me my grade up until now, and plus, i killed 2 stones at once, b/c i had them fill out a second form that i am sending everywhere--all other places, in case they wanted one, or w.e., b/c sometimes schools request for mid-term grades if ur border-line, and my mid-term semester gpa is a 3.9 with 17 credits

"I just got a letter from Wash U saying that they were placing my decision on hold until they got my mid-semseter grades. "

thats my point sman, Wash U doesn't even require this for transfer admission, but in some cases requires it
other schools are similar, Penn & Cornen (i actually go to cornell, but I know for transfers, it requires a mid-semester report) require them off the bat
however, i would just get it, get it on another form, and then photocopy and send!

Oh finally, I managed to send the midterm reports with all professors signing it...Thankfully I have like an A in all my classes till this point...Do you guyz think, it will give me a slight advantage in Cornell and UPENN......

I've been getting all A's for Eco, Business, and English. History and Business Law both have only midterm and final, and I have yet to take the midterms. Looking good so far, but I have no idea how my Law professor grades.

I guess I'm going to have to put N/A for those classes. After all my midterms I plan on sending a mid-semester report to all the colleges I'm applying to. That's ofcourse if I get good grades :P

mid-semester grades:
4 As and 1 B (3 hours each class)

5 courses

4 credits A
4 credits A
3 credits A
3 credits A-
3 credits A-

3.89

that b will be an A after I rewrite a paper though.. :D

3.94 with 20 credits

wow b23, great job!!!!

4.15 hopefully with 19 credits.
Need to rewrite my ****en english paper. and hopefully my rewrite will be an A.

5 classes, 4 credits each, music doesnt give mid term grades.. they show up as +00.

pass, A-, A-, A, A
the session is a 3.85 but my total is a 3.76.

bball87-- the generic form that you gave to your professors for mid-year grades, did you make it yourself? i'm curious. i am thinking of having my professors fill out mid-year reports even though it is not required, but i am not sure what exactly to make them fill out.

bball, you already posted your mid-semester grades like 50 million times. we already know you did well -_-

and in response to a school placing a decision on hold until they receive mid-semester grades or final grades, this usually refers to freshmen in college who have only 1 semester of college under their belt.

all of the schools i applied to last year (i was a college freshman) required this but none of the schools i applied to this year have asked (besides penn of course since it's required for all applicants).

anyways, my mid-semster is 3.9 with 15 credits so far. 4 A's and a B+ (very stupid mistake on a calc exam). not as impressive as bball87 pulling a 3.89 with 17 credits at cornell, but oh well. i like to believe i have a better personality :]
