Mid-Year Report: classes not completed

How do you report classes which aren't finished at the end of the semester? At my school no APs are finished yet and I've only completed one of my classes. I don't want to just report one grade

I just wrote down the classes I was still taking, and put a note that they were In Progress. Just leave the grade blank.

hopefully i wasn't wrong in assuming that by first semester grades they meant your grades for a year long class as of first semester. that's how i interpreted it, so i basically just copied my first semester report card onto the online form.

so if your school has 4 marking periods, do you average qtr 1 and qtr 2 or do you send qtr 1?

^
The Semester grades are the averages of Quarter 1 + Quarter 2 (+midterm exams) which the school is supposed to do for you. At least, that's how my school does it.

My school doesn't do the semester average for you. I don't want to just write "in progress" because I want UVA to see that I have As and A+s in my classes

Just out of curiosity, on the report cards, there are letter grades (not numbers.) How can you average it yourself without knowing the number grades? Or do teachers give you the number grade?

Mid year reports are just that: mid-year. 99% of applicants won't have "finished" their classes, as most are year-long. They just want to see how you're doing senior year, and make sure you're not slacking off or doing horrible with a heavy course load.
Put your first semester grades for all of your classes, and indicated which one is done (especially if you have an A/A+) and which ones are year long courses. Also, they'll already be able to know which are .5 (semester) and which are 1.0 (year) credit courses from your transcript.

All of my classes were year long so I just put the grades in....I dont see what so complicated about it

was there even an "In Progress" option?

Where can I find the midyear report? I have looked everywhere but I can only find it if I download the whole application and it wont let me print that.

i had the same problem! if you applied online then you have to report your midyear grades online. login to uva's apply online! website, then click on "application" (or something similar; the link that takes you to the page where everything you need to fill out is listed) and near the top it will have a link that is something to the effect of "report your mid-year report here." (it's not a bolded heading like the rest of the components of the application)

thanks! i just submitted them!

I guess my problem would be that we don't have semester grades. I have a first quarter grade and a second quarter grade
