Mid-Year Report?

Mid-year reports are required for all applicants, right? I've seen some conflicting information floating around CC and I'm just trying to get it straight. And how long do you think it will take after you send those in to get an admissions decision? My semester doesn't end until the very end of January, so I won't be able to get those grades in until after admissions decisions have already started to be sent out. Thanks!

You might want to call McGilll Admissions rather than relying on CC guesses.

Alright, will do – I wasn’t quite sure if I wasn’t just confusing myself or not. Thanks!

please respond back, because first semester grades come out in February for me.

Any updates on this? My mid-term tests are next week, so the semster ends in about 2 weeks. I also have not yet heard a response from Mcgill, so an answer to this would be really helpfull.

I sent them an e-mail but haven’t gotten a response yet. I’d call but I’ve almost completely lost my voice and you can’t hear me over the phone! Hopefully if I’m better next week I can go ahead and call admissions.

Any word yet? I’d like to know

i don’t know. My application says ready for review, with no items outstanding. I didn’t send in a midyear.

Some people are getting in without sending in reports, so I think you only need one if they say you do.

From my understanding, most applicants have to send in mid-years. The very obviously qualified and the unqualified sometimes get their decisions without them. But because McGill doesn’t look at freshman year grades, they generally like to see the first semester of senior year.
If your status says Ready for Review, it means they haven’t looked at it yet. Eventually it will change to Further Review Required (Send in mid-year), Admitted, or Refused. If your semester grades are available to send but your status still says Ready for Review, I’d go ahead and send them, because chances are you’ll be asked for them when your file is looked at. And it’d be better to send them in so they’re there when your file is looked at then wait for them to tell you they need them because it is rolling in the sense that the sooner your file is complete, the sooner you can get your decision.
