So I have a surgery planned in less than a week. It is very important to get it done immediately. Unfortunately, I will be missing my midterms in school. My counselor said he will just extend the marking period etc for me. The problem is I have colleges that want my grades by February 1st. I don’t think I will have finished the exams and marking period at the time. What should I do? E-mail them to explain the situation or have my counselor? Submit them late with an explanation?
I would email them (or have your counselor do it if you feel as if that would be more valid/official) and explain your situation. I’m sure they’ll be more than understanding.
