Will the Commonapp generate an email to counselors asking for the Mid-year report (like it did for the secondary school report)?

No, mid year is a different time for each school or district. Counselors see the status of all their students on a single common app log in. whenever they log in, they can see what items are missing for each person. It’s best if you go remind your counselor to send the mid year report once your semester grades are finalized.

^thanks griffen. One last question. Are you all mailing in ‘physical’ transcript copies again too?The counselor’s online midyear report is supposed to have a transcript attached,so do we still need to send an additional paper one?

^Same question! Since the online mid-year report has a transcript attached, do we need to also send a physical copy? Or does it depend on the college?

The mid year report asks for rank. For example “the student ranks 12 out of 200 for the time period x to the time period y”

Here is my question. S2’s initial apps were sent out with grades 9, 10 & 11 as the time period for rank. My son falls just a hair outside of the 10% rank. (it is the difference between getting one A instead of a B in 9th grade) Would it be wrong to ask his counselor to report only 10, 11 and 1/2 12th grade for the mid year?

^Kajon,it would be too complicated for any counselor to have different policies for different students, they just won’t be able to keep track. So I really doubt they would change anything for one student, but if they do it as a whole for all their students,it might be doable.
