Does anyone know when colleges start acknowledging that they have received our mid-year reports on the application status-checker websites?

It varies from school to school. Keep in mind that many schools are receiving thousands of midyear reports. Most of these are coming via snail mail. They go from the mailroom, to the admissions department where they are opened and matched up with the students file. All of the application status updates are done manually (probably by student interns who are working around their classes ) so things do take a little time. IF the college is missing something they will contact you. IF they are missing the midyear report, they will contact you GC directly via telephone.
