Mid year reports are required.

i know they’re required and my school already sent them in. im just wondering if they use them for admissions or if they just use it if you are on the bubble of getting admitted or not.

this is my number 1 school and im a bit worried! i hope my B- in english won’t mess it up for me. I got good grades in the rest of my classes (A’s and one B) so i hope that shows them that it was only one bad class and that im not slacking. Help a brotha out! Will the B- mess my chances up for me?

An admissions person called our school and asked for mid year grades a day after they were mailed to students (days before the school was ready to send mid year reports), and said it was ok to leave a message with the grades on voicemail because she was reading applications that week. To me that means there is no doubt that they are looking at the grades. As to specific impacts, have no information.

They definitely look at your mid-year grades, but I don’t think a B- will have a huge impact as long as the rest of your application is strong. Good luck!
