Hi! I am having a hard time because I would love to go to one of the UC schools I got into but I am getting no financial aid besides unsubsidized loans. My family was really hopeful that I would receive at least something from the Middle Class Scholarship program. Our household income was about $130,000 and I have a 3.9 so I meet the qualifications as far as I can tell. I don’t even know anybody who qualified and received it. Does anyone have any info or ideas on why I wouldn’t have received it?! Thank you!!
P.S. my expected family contribution is almost $30,000 which is ridiculous and nowhere near what we can afford. My dad was fired which was our only income until my mom got a job a few months ago and her yearly income will be about $45,000, but because my parents took money from retirement from SSI when he was fired our income looks high (it is being used to pay off debt, house bills, etc, so my parents actual income of money we have to spend is nowhere near that high).
