Middle Earth vs. Mesa Court

I think most people who request to room together get it. I requested to live with a friend from high school and got it and I didn’t hear about anyone that wanted to but didn’t. Just make sure you apply on time and get the roommate request form in before the deadline.

Thanks, and also, I’m in a dilemma between UCI and UCSD, but am i still allowed to submit my SLR, and decide to attend SD later?

^^You mean SIR. You can send it in with the money. HOWEVER, if you later decide you don’t want to attend you will give up your SIR money.

Both schools have the same deadline I believe so I’m not quite sure what you mean.

I think I’m leaning towards Mesa Court :]

so i read all of these pros and cons about mesa vs ME

I want to live in an environment where i will have fun. food is very important. I hear that EM is sort of a hotel like living place and i dont like that. I only visited mesa and i like it. I want co-ed dorm. I dont care if its far off campus since i dont mind walking. I like the fact that ME is closer to the campus though. Being sociable is very important to me and i hear that ME ppl are weird and i dont understand why. Im undecided so it doesnt matter where i dorm i guess.

I want to be in an enjoyable environment. I like to party but i also want to be academically stable when i go to uci.

Idk where to dorm. any suggestions ppl…i need help

i guess its good to visit in times like these. For example i was going to go to UCSD but i went to visit the campus and i didnt like it. On the contrary, i love the uci campus…

here’s the thing: you can’t generalize about the PEOPLE in mesa/ME because each group is different. you can make better generalizations about the communities in terms of how things are run (mesa is perceived as having a better social life because they are always partying but when i walk around mesa at night, i feel creeped out because it’s big/separated and i hardly see people walking around, whereas i always see people around ME). mesa has improved the food quality but it’s still not up to par with pippin/brandywine (however they have a panini machine and their waffle maker is always out). the newer buildings in ME are more like hotels (in my opinion) because of how they were designed, but the older (phase I/II) buildings definitely have more character to them (but you can’t pick the phase you want). i would guess that the same goes for mesa dorms even though i’ve only been in a few. some halls definitely look different like otero but the modern phase 4’s are very standardized.

i would definitely suggest visiting ME and maybe go into some of the halls

well i think im just going to dorm in mesa since middle earth is sort of a hotel structure like building which i dislike. Either way, dorming should be fun so its no big deal :D

Somewhat serious question here, do you guys think having a co-ed suit will increase your chances of getting laid?

Ultex91… though your motives of going to college now seem a little… questionable…

im gonna just forget that and answer your question lol

… I think that being in a co-ed will increase your chances to interact with members of the opposite sex which in turn could yes… increase your chances of “getting laid”

… though wouldn’t getting laid with someone in your hall make things awkward for u if u were to randomly come across each other… im sure u can find what u are looking for in other areas of the campus

so… to top things off… CO-ED ALL THE WAY!!! >:O!!! ^_^

Well obviously my main motive for attending college is the education, but it wont hurt to have a little enjoyment on the way ;)

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

ultex you gonna need some latex lmao

to Ultex91…i hope it does! haha

to expedit…i wouldnt feel akward at all. Even better when u think about it since u wont have to go so far to get laid. Just a few steps away…haha :)

Lol you guys are sick!!! Xd

why this topic even start lol…
the discussion should be about ME vs. mesa! haha

Well actually ME offers co-ed suites, Mesa doesn’t. So factor that into your decisions.

;)

BUT, if you make friends with a female who lives in mesa, and you visit her often, you have a hall full of them females.

hall =/= suite. i don’t think mesa even has a single gender hall but ME does

***!
i though mesa was co-ed!!..

hmm suites sound better than halls …

but mesa sounds better than ME to me ;</p>

@baller: Both dorms are co-ed, but each dorm has several buildings, and within those buildings, there are “suites,” which are basically sets of five or so rooms clustered together and separated from each other by living rooms or common areas. If you think of Harry Potter, suites would be like the area where the boys and girls go up different staircases.

Middle Earth has co-ed suites; Mesa does not.
