At my high school, high school credit classes taken in Middle school are put on your transcript and are figured into your gpa. Some of my middle school grades have pulled my gpa down, I want to know how much MIT considers them as my gpa and rank would definitely be higher without them.

I imagine they’d matter less than the classes you’ve taken more recently, since your grades have improved.

I don’t think MIT asks for middle school grades. For example, if you took algebra/geometry in middle school and got C’s on them, then aced pre-calculus and calculus in high school, you should be fine. Also, class rank doesn’t depend on middle school grades.

my class rank is dependent on middle school at my high school, i remember one of the first days of high school they gave my a transcript and rank based on middle school grades and even though I got a 4.0 for freshman year, i got a 3.8 cumulative overall.

My friend’s S is in the same situation. His high school classes taken in middle school are part of his gpa/ranking.

My S’s transcript (at a different school) just has a place to list high school classes taken in middle school, but gpa is unaffected.
