Middle School Senioritis?

Now that our children have been accepted to boarding school, are there any parents who are having a difficult time getting getting their S or D to to keep working until the end of the year?
My son has some serious 'senioritis' for want of a better word. Homework gets done and that's it. His present school is already in the past tense.

I cannot even begin to tell you the case of senioritis my S has. He has been at this little school for 11 years. He is DONE !

My son started talking about his current school in the past tense until we reminded him that his acceptance could be rescinded if his grades took a tumble!

We're all counting down the weeks. It's an endurance test for the entire family.

when i was disappointed with a grade on one of my quizzes, my TEACHER said, "don't worry about it! you're going to exeter next year!"

That's sweet.

I for one can't WAIT for this year to be over. It's getting annoying with the thousands of state tests.
I tide myself over by thinking 'exeterexeterexeter' over and over.

I am failing Spanish. I didn't even know that it was POSSIBLE to fail a class at my school. (Technically, I'm not failing, I have an Incomplete, so its possible for me to still pass.)

Besides that I think that I am actually doing better in the last semester.

Liddyb94, i've been at my school for 11 years too! I really don't want to work any more :P

i'm trying not to have to take my finals... so i'm working a little, but i'm not studying AS hard as i did for the 1-3rd quarters....

LiddyB and Itsren,
ME TOO! I'm so ready move on yet I'm also sad to say goodbye to my friends and teachers. But that doesn't mean I want to work!

We solved middle school "senioritis" by hiring a tutor for my "big man going to be on campus" whose 3rd quarter grades were dropping, especially in one particularly advanced subject. The tutor is 25, a college grad applying for MBA who recently took GMATs, very bright, nice and upbeat.

gahhh idk aout you but i certainly am
every class i sit through just seems pointless
for an entire week any worksheets i got i would just write random answers as questions to see if the teachers would notice..they didnt..

today we had to take a tour of the high school and i was like i'm not even goinggg hereee
gahhh
i just want it to be summer already!

I only have 7 full days of school left when you count all of the days that are completely dedicated to programs and stuff, so I'm finding it hard to take it seriously.

luckyyyy... i'm going until june 20th.
butttt i'm subtracting the week of MCAS, the week or so of 8th grade activities, the 2 days of field trips...
so thats basically 25 days.

i'm so ready for this year to end!! it all seems so pointless! My mom keeps joking that i have senioritis.

Reality check. I'm pretty sure that all of those acceptance letters included a paragraph wherein it was stated that one is expected to maintain their current grades or something to that effect. The new school will receive your final grades and flags will go up if there is an abhorrent drop in grades. Although unlikely, one does not want to start the new year on academic probation. One has to be very slothful to pull that off. The reality is the work never really stops. So enjoy your summer but finish your school year with the same ambition you had before March 10th.

I'm going to JAPAN tomorrow for a school trip, and then will have two weeks of pointless school. I'm soooooo excited for my trip. Ahhhh!

i wish we went to japan for school trips. the best one we ever got was to see Beauty and The Beast. (which was terrible)

wow, my school can't even afford buses for our eighth grade graduation party. we're walking to a local park. :/ they're also cutting the arts and language classes next year.

anyways, yeah, senioritis has hit me pretty hard. i'm getting a little worried for my english and history class (two classes combined: same grade and teacher)...i haven't been doing too well on the tests. HOWEVER, every other class, i'm getting straight A's in.

anyways, i am infected with senioritis. i'm only concerned with my english and history class (two subjects in one class: same teacher and letter grade); i haven't been doing too well on the tests. :( however, i'm excelling in every other class. i don't know why i'm slacking off in the most challenging classes. :'(

I'm leaving for Israel with my grade on sunday.
So that doesn't help removing the senioritis either.

I'm very serious allergy this and last week.
Even can't get up in the morning.
Classes are full of works and projects.
I have to study for final exam and SATII........

Japan for a school trip? Are you in a private school and are you in eighth grade??? I can't even imagine. Our middle school generally goes to an amusement park that is about an hour away.
