ohhhhh deferred.

Don’t forget to post your stats when you state you acceptance/rejection. Thanks friends!

accepted. we will have a nice relaxed xmas!

Congrats to accepted students! Now you can read the Middblog instead of just CC! Good luck to deferred and rejected students (for Midd and elsewhere).

Deferred :(

They never got my SAT scores apparently, even though I sent them in October. I checked my SAT score send history and they never actually got sent. What a nightmare.

Handelpants, that sucks! i think something similar happened to me, but with one of my teacher recs. they didnt get it until a few days ago, it had to be sent 3 times!
i got deferred, at least i know they have everything for that deadline…

I had forgotten that today was the decision day and I was just talking with someone this morning about how much of a crap shoot it is at Middlebury. I remember talking with kids in my class at Midd about where they’d applied and what the decisions had been. For many of the same schools there were kids who had been accepted/rejected/wait-listed and at Midd many of those kids had been accepted and wait-listed. There was no correlation between acceptance at Midd and acceptance at other schools. What I mean is someone could have been rejected at school A and accepted at Middlebury, while another student could have been accepted at school A and wait-listed at Middlebury. At this level it’s just never entirely clear. So congratulations to those who were accepted and if you were deferred, keep your head up. You may still receive good news.

Deferred as expected. Second place once again, but at least it’s not a no. Does anyone know how many deferred EDers get accepted RD? I heard about 10-20%, but I’m not sure.

Well, now to get working on my other schools’ supplements. This sucks. Congrats to all the accepted; how I envy you so.

ACCEPTED! What an incredible moment. I wish so much luck to anyone who got deferred/rejected and hopefully many of you will make it in the second round!

Join the middlebury class of 2015 facebook group and find me…my name is Alexa (duh), what’s yours (engl/rubberduckylover/anyone else). SO excited, we’re gonna all go to college together!!! so insane

handelpants, why was the missing application piece not indicated on your appliction checklist online? that’s a mistake on their part as much as it is on yours…

Congrats to all accepted and best of luck to those deferred! A friend of the family got in today, we are all so happy about it. In 365 days, I hope to be in the same position as those of you who were accepted today…ugghh one more year seems so far away :(

Accepted. Class of 2015.5! any other febs out there?

Can’t wait!!

Accepted for September! I’m so happy. I can’t wait to meet some of you!
Everyone who was deferred or denied-you are going to end up at an AMAZING school; my friend says that everyone ends up where he/she is meant to be, and I believe that. Plus some of you will go to NESCAC schools I’m sure so you can kick Midd’s butt!
Deferrals especially, don’t give up hope-10-20% of you will be accepted regular, so keep up the hard work and send any honors or accolades to Midd as soon as you receive them!
Good luck everyone!

D, like Dedede, Shewy, and TopTop was deferred. Congrats to all accepted. I’m trying to convey that old saying: sometimes, when an adcom closes a door, he doubles your financial aid package you get in RD.
She’s not smiling…

Oh man, what a crazy time this was… congrats to all accepted, hope to see you around campus. :-)

Those deferred, I have some wisdom to impart: DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT give up. I was deferred, then waitlisted, then finally accepted in May. There is hope. If Midd really is your dream, like it was mine, do everything to let admissions know. Write letters, make visits, see classes. Midd wants kids who love the college. One-third of the freshman class this year was waitlisted if that’s any indication of how little an immediate acceptance ultimately means about your qualifications. If you were deferred, you were good enough. Period. What will eventually separate you is your interest. Go for it - I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks, caesar123. I would actually say we’re good, but not good enough. Le sigh. Such is the limbo of deferral.
So a third of the class was accepted off the waitlist, huh? I wonder if midd waitlists so many kids because they’re not needblind at that point and want to keep their money in check.

One third of the class accepted off the waitlist? That doesn’t seem to make sense. According to the Common Data set, there are 577 accepted students and 134 waitlisted students were admitted. It says that 325 were accepted early decision. Can someone explain this?

Just a point - Midd is always need blind except for International students. And I don’t know about that math that says a third is from the waitlist. It doesn’t make mathematical sense unless by waitlist you mean deferred to regular decision?
