So???

Well I’m int’l needing significant aid and got deferred… if anyone else wanna share

International needing a full ride and got flat out rejected…

I thought you applied ED2 to swarthmore?

Nope switched to Middlebury at the last minute.

I am sorry about that you are overly qualified to be honest. I am not so hopeful of my situation, looking for a full ride too.

I would have been happy with getting deferred since it means that they were on the fence about me at least. Even if you didn’t get accepted in the end to Middlebury, I think getting deferred from such a competitive school is a good sign and you’ll very likely get accepted somewhere else.

If, in recent weeks, Swarthmore was your “dream school” and you “fell in love” with Colgate, then you shouldn’t be too upset with your denial at Middlebury, particularly since you still have quite a few more decisions yet to arrive.

Well none of the things you put in quotes are wrong, and maybe you have no right to tell me how I should feel about my denial at Middlebury since I doubt we’re in the same boat and that you are an international student who needs a full ride so having “quite a few more decisions yet to arrive” doesn’t in no way guarantee that I will be accepted and escape the broken educational system my country suffers from. So, yeah don’t tell me how I should feel about my denial.

Thank you!! I am glad that at least someone sees hope in my application. Wish you all the best in your other applications!

I gave you my best advice early on, and that was to emphasize a college such as Grinnell in your research, a school which would be excellent for CS, is superbly well-endowed and appears genuinely interested in enrolling and funding lots of international students. If your main goal is to depart from a broken educational system, then you might have considered this advice somewhat more strongly when arranging the order of your applications.

Best of luck with your remaining decisions.

I have considered your advice and still applied to Grinnell but it wouldn’t let me switch to EDII.
