@watchingthemsoar - Wow, that really sounds like a great welcome ceremony. Thank you so much for sharing all of that information.
Thank you @watchingthemsoar for the wealth of information shared! I was originally confused, but realized I marked that I preferred February Admission. Was being absent-minded and thought it mean that’s when we’d get our decisions. However, it seems like there are indeed lots of special things about being a Feb.
waitlisted and will most likely deny
What are the stats of people who got waitlisted or accepted? I’m a little stressed because I did too and I also applied to more selective schools! No need to feel like you have to share, just curious!
Congratulations to those who got in , condolences to those who didn’t
As a junior who is considering applying next year, I would really appreciate it if you guys could post stats/ec.
Thank you!
EDIT: Oops, just saw that @belle12 had the same request
@belle12 Got accepted for Feb. admission.

ACT: Took once, 34 C (35 E, 32 M, 36 R, 24 S, 31 Essay)
Rejected ahahahah ^.^
SAT: 2370
SAT2s: 780, 750
CIE A levels: AAA*AAA
APs (self studied): 5 for four subjects
Performed at Carnegie Hall, national finalist for economic competitions, Top in the World CIE A level award, rowed and ran track at a state level, plus some other stuff.
congrats guys who got in-- those who didn’t; congrats on giving it a go! Lot’s more excitement to come wherever we go
Accepted
I had an SAT of 1930 (CR: 680, M: 540, W: 710)
2 A’S (APUSH and APGov)
4.1 GPA
And I studied abroad my whole junior year in Indonesia. There is more to my story, but that’s all the major academic things! I guess it just goes to show you that we don’t really know what they are looking for. I definitely recommend applying for Discover Middlebury if you qualify, I think it helped me demonstrate interest. Hope this helped!
Interesting to hear about the Feb admits. A lot of schools offer a second semester admission but I’m not aware of others that make it an institutional event. Sounds like Middlebury sets themselves apart in how they administer it.
@belle12 i applied for more selective schools too ^.^ and I got full out rejected from Middlebury! Don’t stress it, whatever happens happens
I realized up above I wrote two A’s…I meant two APs lol. Darn autocorrect
Accepted! Totally unexpected as I’m an international applicant without the amazing standardised test scores many other applicants to Middlebury have…
ACT: 31 – 34 Maths, 32 Reading, 29 Science, 30 English
I’m taking the IB Diploma, with a predicted score of 40-43 points
Had the alumni interview, which I think went pretty great
Other than that, I think that my common app essay was fairly unique and I also come from a pretty small country, and so there usually aren’t more than 2-3 applicants from my country applying to the same college/university – so that might have helped. However, I know of one other applicant to Middlebury from my country that was rejected.
Anyways, a big congratulations to all accepted! And to all rejected/waitlisted, I am confident that all of you will end up somewhere amazing in the end
Accepted!
Here are my stats!
GPA: 4.2
ACT: 32 (33 superscore)
Total of 7 APs
Competitive swimmer for 9 years, varsity swim, National Honor Society, Link Crew, Newspaper editor and vice-president, worked as camp counselor over the summer, 2 years of volunteer work at animal shelter and over 300 hours. I definitely recommend that if you are an athlete that you contact the coach before you apply and possibly visit, and then met them know once you have submitted; I definitely think that helped my application.
As for other schools, I got rejected from Bowdoin and Pomona and accepted to St. Olaf, Chapman, Trinity and Brandeis. I was definitely disappointed about the 2 rejections, but this helped and I realized you have to love the school that loves you back don’t work if you didn’t get in, there will be much more good news in your future.
@hopemojo1 Congratulations!! My first choice was Midd but I was waitlisted, and I totally agree. I was lucky enough to get accepted at Bowdoin and I’m concentrating on that; I probably won’t take a place on the waitlist. It’s much less torture to love the school that loves you back.
Hi @mbhopeful20. Just wondering if you can expand on your comment about the Facebook page. There are two currently and each is called Middlebury College Class of 2020. One is a public group, while the other is a closed group. The description of the closed group page indicates that it is for applicants as well as accepted students. It says: “this group is for anyone who has either applied to or been accepted to Middlebury College for the Class of 2020 or 2020.5 We encourage everyone to make a post introducing themselves and check out the group description for more details”. That’s a bit confusing to me since it is for both applicants and accepted students. Is this the page that will have info forthcoming on enrollment, roommates, etc?
@nobska Hi, another admitted student here! The closed Facebook group is the official one, and it primarily consists of accepted students.
Thanks @sparks487
@juniperann Congratulations on Bowdoin, you should be extremely proud! I wish you nothing but the best
@juniperann Thank you for your kind words! Congratulations on Bowdoin!
For future applicants looking at this:
Waitlisted
I go to a top 10 private school in the US
GPA: 3.75 UW, 4.2 W
SAT: 2310 (750 reading, 760 math, 800 writing)
SAT II: 750 and 730 (Math and US history respectively)
I also applied for $45,000+ of aid as an international student which I’m sure didn’t benefit me.
