Hello everyone,
I posted a while back with this same question: Middlebury or Boston College for undergrad. Price is not a factor for me.
I’m planning on majoring in economics with a minor in public health. I know both Middlebury and Boston College are VERY different location wise, but I still like them both.
Which school has a better economics program? Which school sends the most to top grad schools/MBA programs? Job prospects post college (I want to work in government/health public policy).
Which is the best for overall educational experience? What is the best for alumni connections? Fun wise? I’m from a rural area, and I like it, but will a rural college like Midd be different? What is the best choice!!! Thank you all! I only have a few more days to make this decision, so all opinions are welcomed. Thank you again.
Both are fine for your major & interests.
Really a decision about location if COA is not a differentiating factor.
Global Public health and the community good is a brand new minor in the Schiller school of integrated sciences at BC. It’s competitive entry and you have to apply once you are there. I think as a sophomore. A few essays and look at your grades. D22 just was accepted. It’s going to be approved as a major in the next year or two. The profs and offerings seem like they will be lights out. And they are building a new 200mm Schiller hall to house these programs.
Middlebury I’m sure has an excellent offering in both.
It’s really more about what you want in your four years. Location, size, collegiate sports, campus etc
Each will perfectly prepare for success in life and the rest will be up to you.
BC does have a history of very successful government placement. Boston’s current mayor, sec of state John Kerry, speaker of the house Tip O’Neill, “green new deal” sponsor Sen Ed Markey, sec of energy Ernest Moniz and numerous others.
I’m sure midd has the same type of success too.
