There is a subforum dedicated to Middlebury. In the left hand menu on this page, under Top Forums click on Colleges then look under the Top Liberal Arts Colleges section.

Great school, beautiful campus, pretty little town. I’ve heard the students described as spoiled rich kids, but I know quite a lot of them and that doesn’t describe any of them.

Very tough admit. Younger d’s best friend’s sister graduated from Harvard in June…Middlebury was her first choice, deferred from ED and then rejected.

Great shool (from what I’ve heard) and maybe not “rich” exactly or “spoiled” but certainly comprised by a vast majority of somewhat similar backgrounds. ;)

(I have a relative who went to Middlebury, and she was one of the exceptions to above.)

It’s probably not the most diverse campus in the world, but a wonderful school in so many ways. Too close to home for my son and a little on the preppy side for him, but again, I’d not describe any student I knew/know there as preppy. And all very serious students. My son’s best friend is a grad. No better or smarter person anywhere.
