Ok…so I’ve applied RD to Bowdoin and I really really want to go here…problem is that I’m worried that my midyear report may reflect that I’ve been slacking off…I got a B in AP Calc BC and AP Psych…I’m kinda worried b/c i’ve always gotten straight A’s since freshman year…do you think this would be reflected negatively to the admissions office? I mean, honestly, Calc has always been a difficult subject for me and Psych well…the teacher has not been the greatest i guess is all i can say…moreover, I’ve been trying to adjust with my family’s problems right now…my uncle just passed away a few weeks ago from gastric cancer, and we’ve been desperately trying to console his family and complete all the necessary tasks. it’s been tough but i never thought it would interfere with my school work. I guess my main worry is that the admission office will view this negatively even though I’m taking five AP classes out of my six classes this year. Can anyone help me here?

Are you serious about this?
It's a B.
A B!

I wouldn't worry about it. I got a B in a AP class my last trimester, and was still accepted ED. I know what you feel like, but at this point there's not much you can do. Besides, like james said, it is a B, it's not bad at all and if you have never gotten Bs before, you certainly won't look in any way bad as an applicant. Bowdoin I guess is very competitive and most successful applicants, james, do in fact have almost all As on their transcript....BUT that's ALMOST all As, I had a few Bs in hard classes before and still got in. Don't worry about it! Good luck!

Yeah, I have all A's too. Well, since sophomore year at least. But even if I got a B, I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's not as big of a deal as you are making it out to be. Relax.

o ok...haha...i guess i'm just really stressed out...i hate waiting i guess...lol...but yea i hope i didn't appear uptight or anything...it's just that it sucks getting B's in my senior year...just when i thought i had everything in control! ugh...haha

Wow I got a B in AP Calculus too!

I also got one in Honors Physics! I'm sooo not a math/science person.

But nonethless I remain third in my class, so, to my suprise, my school must be slightly more difficult than most? There's no one in my school with straight As through freshmen year.
