Might have accidentally lied on college app

So i’ve been reading posts where people have gotten banned from all schools they applied to because they slightly lied on their applications. I realized that in my activity section I put I was editor of pieces and create layouts for the school literary magazine. There are 7 people on the staff and the truth is everyone edits and creates layouts for their selected pieces. It may look like I am claiming to be editor in chief or something, which may not match up with a rec or my essays. I’m extremely worried!! I was not trying to lie, just spice up what I do in fact contribute to the magazine. If they are suspicious and contact my counselor, will I get to explain myself? I know it is my fault for putting this in the “position” section, but it is what i do.

They’re not going to contact your counselor about that. I wouldn’t worry about it. If you made up something more grievous and further from the truth, like you were class president when in reality you were not involved with anything school leadership-wise, then you might want to be worried. Even then, people get away with lies on their applications.

Thank you for the response!
I’m just worried because I joined this year, so it’s unrealistic that i’d have a leadership position like “Editor in chief” so early
