For colleges that want you to send in your early applications by November 1st, is September 30 or october 1 too early if you feel that you've essentially perfected your app, triple-checked your essays, and couldn't make anything better? Particularly, would sending in your apps in advance demonstrate any extra interest in the school or make you seem more discplined/prepared? Thanks.

A bit too late to ask if you were planning to utilize some sort of plan for this.

But no, when you hand in your app has no correlation to your chances of getting in (unless you hand it in fairly late, of course).

No, as long as they’re before the deadline, they’re all the same.

@born2dance, I’m not applying this year yet, that’s why.

I heard once that some schools read applications in the order that they receive them, is this true?

I know for a fact that Harvard tells SCEA applicants on its website, “Please return this form to us as soon as possible, and by October 15, if possible.” I assume this means that they do not seriously consider those who procrastinate.

“if possible” …'nuff said. Handing it in a few hours or even a day late in most cases doesn’t hurt you.

“interest in the school or make you seem more discplined/prepared?”

This is straw grasping. They read files when they are complete. Since a good portion of the file is not submitted by the student, why should “early” reads be given any advantage?
