Minimum gpa to keep merit scholarships?

Hello CCers!

Sooo I have one of the merit scholarships. Do any of you know the minimum Gpa required to keep them? I Really have no idea, but feel like that's an important thing to know.

Thanks!!

I am pretty sure it varies with the scholarship received and it should be in your letter. If not, I have seen it on the Financial Aid website.

It is actually surprisingly low. For everything up to and including the Presidential, it is only a 2.700. For the DHS it is a 3.000.

YES! perfect. thank you. Then side note: what is the gpa required to stay in the honors program? 3.6, yes?

3.45 after Freshman year if you start out in the program, but 3.6 after that, yes. You need a 3.6 as the minimum to graduate magna cum laude, hence the 3.6 requirement after sophomore year.

How hard is it to keep the 3.0/3.6 gpa? (I got the DHS and I’m in the honors)

Naturally, it depends on you more than anything else. Certainly your major can make some difference. But in general if you are organized and disciplined about doing the work, communicate with the profs so you are sure you understand the expectations, and take advantage of any resources Tulane offers if you are having some trouble with any material, you should be just fine. My D has had no issues in her first 3 semesters staying well above those numbers.
