tulane scholarships

Does anyone know the cum required to maintain distinguished scholar scholarship? My daughter got her first 80 in years (first assignment in college) Not to sound obnoxious. She needs to do better to keep $$$$.

I believe a 2.7+ is required to maintain that scholarship.

Also, I am sure her grades will improve as she gets used to the work. Her experience with first assignments is not unusual.

Thanks fallen chemist, as usual.

I believe they look at the GPA for the full first year. If the kid comes in below that you can appeal for soph year. If the kid has a reasonable explanation and some prospect of doing OK, the appeal is usually granted. Say like a kid who tanked first semester at a 2.0 but then gets a 3.0 for second semester.

Per Tulane web it has 2.7 for Distinguished, it also lists other information about the scholarship.

As I recall it is 2.7+ for all the less-than-full-tuition awards, and 3.0 for the DHS and PTA. I would have to look up what it is for the Community Service Award.

FC is correct. Maintaining a 2.7 GPA is required for maintaining a less than full tuition merit award. When my son started last year, we nervously looked it up and told him not to blow it! (He didn’t, thank God).
