Minimum SAT score for National Merit Finalist?

Hi:) I am a national merit semifinalist! I wanted to know, is 1960 still the minimum SAT score to become a finalist? Thanks!

what is your states PSAT cut off score?

so for instance, if your state’s PSAT cut off score is 215, then at a minimum your SAT score would have to be 2150 or better.
As there are no states with a 196 PSAT cut off score, in any event you’ll have to do better than 1960 on the SAT to reach finalist stage.

1960 is rumored to be the confirming SAT score for 2016. However, you need to add the M + Reading + (Wriitng multiple choice)x10. The confirming SAT score is the same for all states. If in doubt, call the NMSC office.

I’m in Texas and the cut off is 220. But last year’s was 217 and I know people got below 2170 and got finalist positions
