Minimum Score to be a SAT Tutor?

I love to SAT tutor but I feel that my scores may not reflect how qualified I am. I have tutored a few friends with scores in the 1400's, 1500's but if I wanted to make this a part time job, what is a good minimum score to be a SAT tutor?

BTW, 780-M, 690-CR, 640-W

i would aim for above 750 in the subject you want to tutor in. any less than that and your higher scoring students might actually tutor you!

If you're serious about tutoring, you need a 2400, or damn close to it. It's not hard to achieve that score if you have the time; you just need to go through 20-30 tests, and familiarize yourself with EVERY possible question TCB could ask. Then, come test day, it'll be a breeze.

Is a 2320 enough to tutor?

I plan to tutor just in math (800) and writing MC (790/80 twice).

where on earth do you tutor? all of the places I've looked into require you to have a bachelor's degree + a very high test score.

my cousin tutored.. he said at least 770
to brand_182: you don't have to "tutor" at a company... just put ads at the library of school or something, parents will call you to tutor their kids

damn that's crazy. I need extra cash and I already tutor math so I think I'm gonna try that. What do people usually charge without financially raping their students?

iono $30/hour?
depends on your location
people at different places are welling to pay different amounts and depends on how rich the people in your district is

you might need to build up a reputation first though

Just score higher than the kid you're trying to tutor.

I tutor around 45 students at one time during the school year. I charged them the equivalent of $50 US for ten hours of lessons spread out over five weeks (two hours every week). I was raising money to go on a community service trip, so I didn't charge very much.

I actually don't have 2300+, but my score distribution is rather funny (800 CR, 800 Math, 690 Writing @@). I got that Writing score just because I'm really bad at grammar and it's all those Error ID questions that trip me up. I did get a 80 Writing on the PSAT though, so I used that to make it up. You'll find most parents don't care as much about Writing score at CR and Math.

I made up my own curriculum and stuff. Now that it's summer, I tutor 10 students at $30 US an hour. They seem to like it and a couple of them had 150+ point improvements, so I don't think anyone's complaining =)
