I have a son who has applied to McGill for next Fall. We noticed that for this year the minimum for the Bachelor or Commerce moved from a B+ to an A-. Does this mean really a change from a 3.3 to 3.7?
Thank you!

You may want to call admissions and ask. I believe the A- minimum appies to Math and English classes. I have a junior in high school with a B+ in a honors english class and honors math class from 10th grade so will be anxious to hear what you find out.
@my2caligirls I just realized I never responded. It wasn’t a flat out 3.3 to 3.7. It is simply what it best rounded to…and they couldn’t offer up specific numbers. On the plus side, my son has been accepted into the Faculty of Arts…so he had one yes…still waiting on Commerce. My gut is he had one week score on his Math SAT Subject test and that is what is holding him up. The rest of his numbers are relatively strong (3.6; 31 ACT). Good luck!
If he scored above 26 ACT Math, he should be ok. They take the best of [SAT I and II] or ACT.
Who knows how the increase in US based applications and new SAT scoring are going to play this year.
One of the universities in Canada that my daughter applied to this year said that their applications from the US have doubled from last year. Another was much slower than we expected, and slower than they said that it would take on their website. My guess is that the increase in applications from the US (probably both dual citizens, and US citizens) has just slowed them down, at least for those of us who live in the US.
