Just wanted to share a few of the minor glitches we encountered with the Common Application when submitting my son's ED application. For the most part, the submission process was smooth and we did not encounter any difficulty in the actual submission. However, there were a few things that I noticed when the PDF generated so I wanted to flag them.

Under several of his activities it has "continued" under the category and listing of hours/weeks. This is what it looks like on the pdf:

It does this on 5 of my son's listed activities. It didn't cut anything off so I am not sure what happened.

The Additional Information section did not correctly format despite using Notepad. My S wrote two very brief paragraphs, on different issues, yet they are one continuous paragraph. Using Notepad seemed to fix the formatting issues for the essays. However, the formatting did not resolve itself until the pdf was generated. (Essays only) It still appeared to not separate the paragraphs when viewed through the Common App but then on the pdf it was fine. That was not the case for the Additional Information section as the formatting issue remained a problem.

*For those of you who may have swimming as an activity, review the pdf to make sure the wording does not appear strange. On the pdf, the activity looked like "swim swimmer, Teddy Bears Swim Club" You have to choose the category "swim" so that portion is out of your control. The next section is to chose the position which he filled out as "swimmer, Teddy Bear Swim Club". But when the pdf generates that is when it looks funny. When I noticed this, I had him switch it "Member" so that it read "Swim Member, Teddy Bear Swim Club"

In the scheme of things very minor issues to say the least. Just happy to have it done! Good luck to everyone!
