actually, black girls win. watchu smokin? lol

How about liking individuals instead of being racially preferential?

I think that goes without saying. But you're never (well, we hope, but not soon) going to get rid of the racial aspect of dating, I think, and it's good to just sit down and talk about it honestly. I find nothing in this thread offensive in the least.

I think it is a great thread! Happy sunshine stardust unicorn giggles for everyone.

I don't have a racial preference but for some reason I'm wary of dating African American women because of a few bad experiences I've had in HS (almost all of them did drugs and were loud and obnoxious).

"I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung"

It's just too bad that my girlfriend is Asian...:(

yea, cuz i'm sure most of the non-black girls in your school didn't do drugs.

Dude, my schools valedictorian (Jewish Valley girl) smoked more weed than anyone I know.

Trufax.

I'm Indian and the only girls I seem to be attracted to are east asian girls like Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc. But I don't think they like us Indians and South Asians in general though.... do they? : (
I never seem to see any south asians and east asians hooking up, seen very few of these type of couples....
I think they tend to like whites the best out of their own race but I could be wrong.

I'm black and I've always been attracted to Causasian guys the most. Especially Italians... ;)!

But I'd never close myself to a certain race... I've always wanted to date a Japanese guy or a Korean. I think alot of Korean/Japanese guys are hot.

poison.ivy your comment reminds me of this asian guy I once saw in a movie...the movie was terrible, but this guy was so freaking hot...he was some eyecandy :D I think he was Chinese though...

Edit: Still, If a guy is cute...he is just cute regardless of his his race.

Heh Rahul I think ur right there's this Ukranian girl I liked she didn't seem too interested :( Wait, East Asian..ah well, close enough

Yeah, by east asians, I mean "orientals" I suppose, but I don't think we use that word anymore. Sorry to get all political or whatever, but it peeves me that when you hear the word asian in America, you think of east asians only, never other types of asians like west and south asians. I hear its because the Chinese were the first asians to come here and when you say asian in the U.K, you think of Indians because they were one of the first asians to go there.
Just like I don't like it when native americans are called indians, I am indian, they are native americans. Columbus just thought he landed in India when he came to America and called them indians and the whole thing just stuck here and they are just called indians, I like native american a lot more.

rahulnirmal,

It's a pain, eh? But, it's not it's done because Americans hate Indians or anything.

'Sides, "Southeast Asian" is coming increasingly into the fore.

Yeah, I guess, but I suppose I have to live with it.
Anyways, I always hear about a lot of American teachers going to Japan to teach English there. But wouldnt you have to learn Japanese first to communicate with the students there in the first place??? Sounds like a nice job to me, too bad Japans so freaking expensive and I'm afraid that they would be racist especially towards me, what with my brown skin and beard, they seem to like whites the best out of all foriengers. I can't blame em for being so xenophobic though.

^my cousin does that
but she's a black forienger :)

Sorry to get this thread off topic but I'm just wondering how they get the jobs if most of them can't converse in Japanese, how on earth can you teach the students then? Its like a Spanish teacher who only speaks Spanish trying to teach me Spanish, it would be near impossible to impossible for me to learn anything! Why do you guys go for these jobs anyways, do they pay good? You get to go to another country and absorb the culture as well..?

rahulnirmal,

I'm half-Persian, occasionally bearded, and 100% sexy. The Japanese never really commit outright acts of discrimination against me. The worst I see is when I go to an onsen (hot spring) and the presence of a hairy foreigner causes some men to up and leave. Oh well, more room for me!

The reason you don't need any Japanese is because you're an assistant teacher. They stick you in classes with people who teach English and know both.

The pay in JET, the program I'm in, sorta blows. But I do get HEAVILY subsidized rent, so it's all good.

I imagine HK would be a cool place to live in.

Oh, and why I took the job in Japan...

First off, because I felt like coming back. I lived here in 2003 as a college student and enjoyed it. Secondly, because I needed more international experience to be competitive for grad school. Thirdly, because it was the only job I got straight out of undergrad.

That third one really helped me decide.

Yeah, Hong Kong just looks amazing with all the skyscrapers and such.
