does being a jew hurt my chances. I can't exactly hide that I'm an Ashkenazi Jew with a last name like levin(I'm proud of it, but I wouldn't like it hurting my chances). This may be all in the past, but i've read that yale set up quotias and everything to keep out. Weird thing is the head is Richard Levin, my name is the same as the head of the Israeli program (if you don't feel like looking it up, it's Aaron Levin). Will it hurt my chances, help them, caramalize them, go yacht fishing with them, or what?

I don't think it would hurt you chances. I know Harvard was anti-semitic in the twenties, but I'm glad that's past us now. I don't really think you need to worry. It would be disgusting if they'd reject you because of your religion.

that's what I'm thinking. I'm just not sure if they still have that kind of air about them or anything. I won't get to tour the school till the summer and asking the application office is a waist, they just send me a site about diversity week or month or something.

There is a strong Jewish presence on the Yale campus. It will neither help nor hurt your chances.

thanks, clears my mind.
