is there a limit to how many minors i can take?

No idea, but unless you have a time machine, more than two (with a major) (depending on what they are) would be suicide.

as far as I know, no limit.

However, there are practical limits, given that certain courses must be unique to the minor. So unless you want to stay extra semesters for a double minor or such (probably a bad idea...)

well one of the minors i'm considering is basically all two unit courses

so it would be easy to tack those courses onto 16 unit schedules

so yeah i did the math and it WOULD be possible to have three minors (which is what i was considering) in four years.... i just wanted to know if it was allowed

no dice...you have to have at least 16 units unique to the minor, even if it's more than 4 courses.

uh well i was thinking IR major...

two courses in EALC....
+ EALC minor

plus music recording minor which is mostly 2 unit courses but adds up to at least 16 units

plus marketing minor which is at least 16 units

and if i get the classes i want it would be within 4 years.

or if i did another major/didn't share units with EALC, i could still do 9 semesters, which i'm okay with.

so correct me if i'm still wrong, but i don't think it's an issue of not having enough units. i'm just wondering if there's an imposed limit.

there are other "practical" limitations to having too many requirements, like scheduling, and the fact that not all classes are offered each semester. You'll also find that while departments are fairly sympathetic when it comes down to scheduling conflicts within your major in order for you to graduate on time, there's less flexibility when it's a minor that's causing the scheduling problem

Also, for what it's worth, a minor isn't a gigantic deal. Since they're not recorded on the diploma, you can always just take the courses that you're interested in.
