can you have more than one minor? because i really wanted to do global studies as a major but it's too late for me to apply, so i wanted to do the minor instead. except i have my heart set on a comparitive lit minor. does anyone know if there is a limit to how many minors a person can have?

i don't think there's a limit on the number of minors, except there's a maximum unit cap of 216units for college L&S i believe.

i'm doing a double minor (education and cog sci).

so long as you're under the unit cap it doesn't matter, just be sure to plan it out well.

thanks! i should be okay because gs and ids have a lot of the same classes so some stuff will count for both.

I wishededed ucla hada physics miinor

also make sure you don't overlap too much, they generally don't let you use more than 2 classes as duplicate requirements.

i thought it was 272 max for L/S.

but yeah, it sucks. too low of a max cap. because of that i can't double minor.

216 unit max plus whatever AP/college units you already came in with. hence someone's personal max cap could be 272.

jolius, have you talked to a counselor about double minoring? worth a shot to see if they'd let you.

so ur 216 unit max is only for classes that u take at UCLA?

yep, liyana. i've gone to CAC a couple times over the past weeks. i came in with 60.5 AP units so that kind of limits my choices. I was really looking forward to double minoring in accounting and neuroscience, but I guess it was not meant to be. Wayyy too many requisites for NS; none overlap with my Bizecon major.

your minor in cogsci looks interesting though-i actually just looked at that. i see a few NS classes, so that could be another option. thanks for indirectly introducing that to me haha

lol, no problem!

so theoretically, ur unit max cap could be at 321 (216 @UCLA and 105 transferred over from a Community College)?

(btw, if it makes a difference, i am referring to a freshman applicant who has brought over 105 units from CC courses taken during hs.)
