Misreported SAT scores

I recently submitted my first CommonApp today, and through some inexcusable mistake I misreported a section of my October 2009 SAT (I reported it as the same score in that section from the May test). Do I have to email all of my CommonApp schools about the discrepancy, or is it minor since they will see the true scores in the official report from CollegeBoard?

Did you report it as higher or lower? If higher, I think it might be a good idea to email them, even though they’ll most likely shrug it off–it happens.

Also, you would only need to email the school to which you submitted the app–so not all schools. You can change it later.

I reported my October SAT Writing as a 740, and it is actually a 710 and I received the 740 in May. I would like to change it, but after you submit the CommonApp I see no way of changing any information as it is all-grayed out. Is there in fact a way to change it?

Did you create an alternate version for other schools yet? Try changing the scores in there.

Make sure you email the college you already sent to!! Don’t want to make them think you were trying to lie about your scores. :(

You can’t change it on the schools you submitted to–I hope you didn’t submit that part to all schools! If you did, then, yes, you will have to email all of the schools.
