I'm a freshman and I've missed the past 2 whole weeks of classes and a final exam today because of a medical condition. I really messed up by not even emailing my professors explaining to them why I've been absent, which I know I should have so I would have known the final was today, but they are at least aware of my condition.
What are my chances at getting a makeup test for the one I missed, or even a chance to take my other finals after 2 weeks of not being in class?
And what can I say in my emails to help my chances at getting my professors to let me take the finals?
I have proof of the condition and can show it to them.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Uhhh you mean 2 weeks after the final? I think you are screwed…

They will probably send you back to the dean to deal with it.

I think he means the final was today, but he’s missed the past two weeks of class, correct? Some professors are more forgiving than others, so contact them. They may give you an alternate exam…or you may have to retake the classes. Best of luck!

The final was today, and I’ve missed the last 2 weeks of class. I have 2 more finals this week, but haven’t emailed any of the professors yet. So I really just need some advice on what I can say to help my chances the most. It really is all because of the medical condition (do I have to give any details?).

Go in person. Do not email.

Go in person. Email for tonight though because you can’t really go right now.

Is there any reason the professors would actually noticed you missed the last two weeks of class? Why would that keep them from letting you take the final even if they did? Your biggest problem now is being allowed to make up that other final, and I would really hope that this medical condition is substantial (like hospital substantial) and even then it’s iffy whether or not you’d be allowed to retake it.

Send an email ASAP and arrange appointments to meet with your professors immediately. The worst case scenario is that you’ll end up with in completes for the semester.

GOOD LUCK!!

I’m sure they will understand your situation. Nothing more you can do than talk to the proper people.

Email then go in, I don’t see any reason the professor won’t let you take the exam after being sick.
